yellow crested cockatiel and santa wood spirit

these are my two latest carvings. still have to do the feet for the cockatoo. these were done from blanks given to me by my good friend cathy k. from minn. thanks cathy, had fun doing them.
the bird was carved then woodburned,then painte with washes of arcylic paint. after coating the carving with boiledlinseed oil.
the santa was painted with acrylics. then both finished with clear acrylic paint.

they are basswood. the wood the cockatoo is sitting on is a piece of driftwood from lake erie beach in penn.

Great ones Pat, just like the cockatoos in Australia, damn pests eat the fruit before we can get it. Love the Santa spirit and damn I have just had a birthday. Have a Merry Christmas buddy.
