I read an article on splined mitered joints, so I made this. Its oak, with walnut splines. Im sure if you check out my other projects you will see I am all about the oak, and dark stain. Needless to say this box will be by my bed side with my 1911 in it. ” I would rather be the man with a gun, in a gun fight then the man without one “

Nice work.
I like the diagonal grain on the top and the splines.

thanks.. I have a buddy who happens to live across from a sawmill, so I get tons of lumber from them for a fair price. I planed that piece down and saved it for something like this. I have a piece with worm holes in it I think i will use for another box type project..

I tell ya the worst part was trying to get the 45’s to match up perfect. sanding and wood filler saved my butt lol
