I hunt.. I kill a lot of deer. One thing around here that everyone loves is deer jerky. So I needed a way to make 3/8’’ cuts of deer meat over and over again. Didnt want to spend 30 bucks on one from the store so i made this.. I made 2 and gave one to a buddy of mine. There made from Cherry. Not to fancy but it serves a purpose.

Cool! I take it you place the meat on the board and let the knife slide along the runners?

I could better appreciate your project if I had it, FULL of fresh jerky. Nice job.

ha.. have fun making it.. the worst part is waiting for the mineral oil ( a cheaper version ) of salad bowl finish to seep through the wood to make it safe for meat.

That’s a good idea! Where I’m from, it’s called biltong not jerky, and where I live now I make it from beef rather than game, but it’s much the same thing and I have made quite a few batches over the last year or so. This could be quite a big help. I’m going to have to add it to my to-do list.

Geeeez! What did that board ever do to you? It doesn’t look like very “jerky” to me…
