A customer, for which I had made several candle trays, contacted me and wanted another one. Only this time she wanted one depecting beach life to be given to her mother who lives on the beach. WELL, I had never seen one like she was describing. After a lot of seaching I still had no clue of what to use to make her candle tray. I contacted Shelia Landry, I purchase ALL of my candle tray (and other patterns) from her, and ask if she had one. WELL, let me just say she, kinda, had this awesome design in some private room of her designs.

I showed it to the customer and she loved it. Originally we were going to use Saman paint/stain but I could not find it locally and time would not permit any mail order type stuff. So the customer approved Danish Oil, like her others. I must say that between all the Christmas ornamnents and such it has been a struggle to get this one out. Need to put about two more coats of Danish Oil on it but I will be ready for the weekend.

If by chance you should like and want the pattern, contact Shelia Landry ( and I know she will provide a copy. AND, again, Shelia I thank you SOOO much for this pattern.

Thanks for looking.

Yes, Sheila usually goes out of her way to please customers, especially if they are fellow LJs! This is a very nice design.

I love everything about this project. The design, your cutting, the wood and the finish. The center almost looks like sky and waves. You did a fantastic job cutting all the details.
