I’m almost embarrassed to post a picture of this toolbox I made as a present for my son for Christmas. I’ve made more significant projects in the past, but I’m starting over in woodworking just using hand tools. This was a project out of a recent issue of pop wood, built just with wood and a few tools from the local big box store.

It was also a lot of fun, and the “distressed” finish looks nice.

Don’t be embarrassed, its a fine looking box. I would like to see the inside as well.

Thanks DYankee.

I stained and dainish oiled the inside. The cool thing about the inside is that it will be filled with some nice tools for my son on Christmas. The best is a very clean Millers Falls eggbeater.

Fine looking box, maybe even moreso considering the hand tools part. Nice paint job.

Like the first poster says, don’t you dare be embarassed, thats a fine looking toolbox that will be filled with the best kind of tools, handtools, made with handtools. Personally, I really like the look of it. Great gift.

It’s a great gift to give your son. You need never worry about having to hang a door for him in the future.

No embarrassment needed! I especially dig the finish. I hope to do something similar if I ever build the toolchest I want.

Don’t be embarrassed! I don’t look at every project that’s posted, but this one caught my eye. Looks great!
