Paint dried on this and I finally got to attach the lid. I started this hamper for my kids’ room a few weeks back. I bought the frame and panel materials but scrounged my scrap for supporting cleats and the lid. I’d been holding on to “Netherland Bulb” boards for a couple years having ripped them off a pallet. I chose beadboard as that’s what the kids have on their walls already. My daughter quickly claimed this piece for her stuffed “Baby Lion” who is napping with a favorite dinosaur book as you will see in the last picture. I’m hoping she’ll cave and use it for dirty clothes in the near future. Pretty simple project but one of those that took longer than I thought it would. I guess they always do, don’t they?

Thanks, Darryl. It’s got character, right? I thought it was lighthearted for a kids room. My kids are now using the hamper for its intended purpose—- does not smell of tulips however.

This is really nice!
I started out to make a hamper like this, but the bead board was so bad I made a trash container for the shop out of it instead.

Thanks, AtomJack. I put “beadboard” in quotes in this post because it’s just the MDF sheet good product from HD. It was the cheapest small quantity. Although in retrospect, I suppose I could have routed some V grooves into any thing for the same effect. It’s funny you mention your trash can because I may very well make something similar to this for our kitchen trash.
