Last night I made some bread boards. 2 of them have inlayed crosses. This was my first attempt at it, so I figured I would document it. Boards are made from oak and the crosses are purple heart. The cross is 7”x3”. I’m critical of my work and I’m disappointed in how it turned out. There are plenty of little gaps around the crosses. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season.

Those gaps arent anythign to worry about Chuck, id mix up a lil sawdust and some glue, jam it in there, sand er up, and viola … no more gaps. Nice project and a solid gift.

I agree…nothing that a little glue and saw dust wouldn’t cure. I hunk you did a great job. Merry Christmas.

I totally forgot about the glue/sawdust thing. That is a beginning woodworking 101 thing. Guess I know what I will be doing today. Thanks guys for the reminder

When I first saw it, the only thing I thought of was being 7 years old getting my first swat from the principle. Ouch. But seriously though. Excellent job.

Ha! when I first saw that first picture I thought I was 7 again and kneeling outside the confessional.

Very nice work though. Oak is the beest.
