Christmas is soon on it’s way…so I had something new and something old. The older….are some of these Basswood carvings of my take on old St Nick….lol…which is hard to believe are from a whole xmas ago…wow…....time does fly.

Being in the spirit I figure I would share with the LJ’s gang although these are not fully rendered, I figure it was a good reminder just seeing them again to learn more about the craft of whittleing and carving.

The new is a hand carved spoon made from our last years Christmas tree. This was something fun to make…not for anything more than the challenge of creating it….it will not be used for eating…lmao

It had as you can see….knots and them some…but with some spokeshaving, files, knives, and chisels I managed to come up with …let’s call it…an Elf Spoon…haaaaaa.

The last was my Tree made from some pine…you might have seen on my copesaw jig post…..this was a fun cut out and also something added was a idea of hollowing out the center…..just for something different to try.

Well I hope someone might find some enjoyment from these…..and I wish all of you the best for a great Christmas!

Be well all…....and many great tools under your tree!

Merry Christmas!!
Joe
