My daugther sent me a picture of the concept she wanted for a blanket box at the end of her bed. I thought we discussed it in detail but on final delivery she wa surprised it had a drawer???? Mars Venus thing i think. She really likes it though. Her mother does all the finishing. I don’t have a biscuit joiner. I use a jointer and make my own biscuits. I really like this for forcing near perfect alignment at final glue up. If anyone wants drawings (free) see site below to contact me.
This was made from spuce 2×6’s from Home Depot. A REALLY a good idea. Check out our spruce bunk bed for more info.

Very nice. I like the way you made the legs and skirt.

I’m curious as to how you make your own biscuits.

Making biscuits—These were about 3/16” thick for the top and possibly 1/4” for the legs (see 2 photos). I just plane a board about 2 or 3’ long and around 2 or 3” wide and plane it to req’d thickness. If slots are 1/2” deep I cut off biscuits about 15/16” long from the pieces. If the slot is blind – like on the top end biscuits and the bottom of leg slots – I radius the ends to match. Don’t make the fit too tight or glue might be so thin that it will set/lock up before the joint is closed. Should be a slightly loose fit—up to 0.005” max total clearance, 0.002” min.
