This is a toy box I made for my oldest son(3). The woods are cherry with Tiger maple trim. Jointer is handcut dovetails. My first attempt at hand-cut. They are not as perfect as I would have hoped, but am happy with the way they turned out. The finish is shellac with a couple of coats of wax.
What is special about this project is that I did everything with hand-tools. From dimensioning the lumber to fitting the jointery.
Thanks for looking:)

Nice toy box and nice hand cut dovetails. I’ll have to try that. I watched a video on a cutting them and it looks straight forward for the through dovetails

Nice dovetails, especially for first try. And hats off to you building with hand tools.

Wow all hand tools! that’s a lot of sweat. I think that the dovetails are perfect, and the choice of wood is wonderful. Great job.

Lovely looking piece. This is something your son will appreciate when he has children.
