My first piece of furniture made with a router, jigsaw & hand held saw with a plastic miter block out of 1/2” sandy ply (out of all things). I liked the way the router burned the edges of the wood, and it’s a good thing cause I didn’t have much choice in the matter. Rushing it would have resulted in tear out, but it did give it an old school look that my wife actually liked. Oh, check out the mirror….you should have seen the look on my face when she brought it home and asked me to build a matching frame :o

This is a nice piece. You right about the edges. It gives it a unique look that is very appealing. I like the idea of the drawers on top. You did a great job on the matching frame. The contour is perfect and it makes a nice addition to the table.

Yeah, this is really impressive! Tell us how you made the legs. Cut them out of colid stock with a jigsaw? I’m thinking there would be a lot of waste with that much curve.

Charlie, the whole thing was made out of 1 3/4 sheets of sandy ply. I drew the legs out on the sheet as close as I could get them and went to town with the jigsaw. Had to double up and get them squared before I put on the ogee. Also means it’s not as stout as I’d like it to be, but you live and you learn..
