Enjoy it now, because by the time she is about 13, no mere gate will be able to stop her from driving her mother crazy. :)

Nice work!

Strikes unfortunately close to home. My son is a little over one. Took a tumble down about 6 stairs tonight. Our gates work much better when closed. All is well, though. Nicely done.

Jason,

These are indispensable for controlling active young people. But I will be honest with you it won't take her long before she figures out how to open the gate. It never ceases to amaze me how curious and inquisitive they are at this age.

This is a nice project and quite useful.

Thanks for the post.

Functional and good looking! From what I hear, I think Charlie M is right :).

Robb, I think he is too:) So is Scott. She's already figured it out, just can't quite get her little fingers to do it yet

Anything to get time in the shop. I actually thought of building those when we needed them, but it was faster just to go get the plastic ones at the store.

By the way Jason, it will amaze you to see how little time it will take her to figure out how to operate that latch. Mine never got through the plastic gates, but then again, they were hard enough to take down that we just usually stepped over them. I just wish a gate would still keep them from going where we did not want them. Now a team of wild horses cannot hold them back.

Great job. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work when you have the time.

Nice gate - thank goodness the only thing I need a gate for now is to keep the dog at bay :))
