Hello LJ’s! Hope all is good out there, once more and very important, I sincerely thank you for the kind comments on my Grandfathers Tote Project. That was a fun and special one to do.

But ahhhhh here we go…...back to some in between experiments in turning and the madness of my love of handtools…...does it ever end?........NEVER!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!!! BWAAAAAH HA HA HAAAAAAA..LOL…..

There are so many awesome jobs on tool handles many of you create that I wanted to get to try this out for myself and here is my first take on one. Especially the handle work of my LJ buddy “MADS” .....he makes some really great handles….please check his projects out…they are great! His friend Shave is also pretty good

I always love to go after something with interesting lines….and yet keep the piece totally workable…..and I got lucky on this one because it really has the best of both worlds for me.

Most of you know I do all of these turnings by foot power alla 1500’s style…and so I always enjoy adding that kind of styling to many things…..I guess I get time warped as I turn.

I have a great little rats tail file I always seems to use….so….why not…I plugged this in and now I have a very usable handle making a less….....plastic….looking original….lol, and so the POPLAR COPPER PLASTIC STOPPER…was born. Hey gang…I try to entertain…the title reads kinda blah with it saying…..HANDLE…..lmao!!!!!!

I used Poplar, got some copper and hacked down to the needed size….bored in the hole…and really enjoyed the outcome. I realize…now I will work on a set pattern…and turn a family of handles….....feet, get into shape there is some 1500’s style turning to tend to…lol!

Hope someone else might get the handle bug and enjoy making your shop less plastic!

Thanks for anyone that looked and enjoyed.

Be well and Merry Christmas to all!! CHEERS!

How did you get your file to make those awesome shavings? LOL. Seriously, that’s a great handle. Handles such as that are indespensible around the shop. I think I’ll turn some up just to have on hand. Thanks for sharing.

One of the best looking file handles that I have seen. Nice.
