This simple little Christmas gift is made from 100% salvaged & resawn hardwoods. The body is made of cherry with mahogany spline joints and the inset top is made from tulip poplar with a mahogany center strip. The floating base is made of oak and a base coat of boiled linseed was applied and 3 coats of gloss poly to bring out a the richness in these re-purposed pieces of wood.

Nice looking box. How long do you let the BLO dry before putting poly on it?

24 hours usually works well for dry time. PS ~ “this old basement” (Love It!)
