My 8 year old Granddauaghter asked if I would make her a Jewelry box for Christmas. She has been using her mothers and most likely her mom asked her to have me make one for her. This isn’t very elaborate but will serve her purpose for a few years, at least until she is older and wants something a little fancier.

This is made from Hard Maple flooring that I received from a relative, the top is Birds Eye Maple. I choose to use Cherry as the accent splines and handle. The finish is wipe on poly.

All suggestions and comments are welcome and as always thanks for looking…

I love to see gifts that are handmade made rather than bought. They mean much to us in life looking back on what grandma or grandpa made for us. I made a doll cradle for my neice when she was 2 years old and she still has it at age 28. I am sure your granddaughter will treasure and love this jewelry box as well. Nicely done.

Great looking box Chuck. The cherry was a good accent.
