My daughter wanted to make something for a Science teacher that she had.
Scroll Saw of a butterfly was what she wanted. The teacher uses raising Monarch
butterflies during class… Kids have to raise one at home, and document it.

My Daughter was ok cutting the big area’s open,, but I had to all the small and fragile cuts.
So the butterfly is out of 1/4” Walnut. and we cut two at the same time.

About a year before I upgraded to the Dewalt scroll saw from a craftsman.. well worth the money.

It looks so delicate and artistic, do you worry that some slender piece will break?

I have broke some of the smaller pieces when I let go of the piece while cutting….

That is excellant work. I have a customer that loves butterflys. Mind telling me where you got this pattern I don’t seem to remember it.
