I decided to build a drill press table even though I don’t really need one right now and there are so many other things I “need” to build like a miter station, out feed table, super sled, sliding peg board, taper jig, all things I need to have when I start our Walnut bedroom set next year. Since I thought this would be a 45 minute build I decided to knock it out over the weekend when my wife was messing around on something around the house. There is a reason I’m posting this on a Monday night, lets just say I had to make multiple trips to HD for different sizes of hardware and such to make it, i think i spent more time designing it in my head while I was building to make sure it was functional.
I went with the Kreg system b/c I plan to use the same system on my miter station fence and on my super sled I plan to build in the near future, this way I can use the same 2 stops on all of them. I’m planning for future builds, hopefully this will work.
I plan on making my inserts after I buy the Ridgid Oscillating Spindle Sander for my birthday Jan. 5th. This way I can round over the edges easier on the belt sander, i wasn’t even going to attempt it by hand with a jigsaw.
