This gift is similar to the manly kit, I drew my sister-in-law’s name for Christmas and decided to give her craft stuff. The box is made out of wood that in a previous life was dorm bed frames and walnut display plaques. It was a tricky build because I decided to miter every edge, then add the walnut filler strips. The wood for the box is almost an inch thick so the box is very heavy.

The original idea was to carve her name in the lid and put a piece of colored glass behind it but that was an epic fail and I was on a deadline so I installed the metal over the failed attempt, and it turned out pretty good.

Truely nice!
She will be so happy for this.
Nice details, nice wood and even recycle.
Love it.
Best thoughts,
