I have seen so many great carvings since participating on LJs that I was inspired to try my hand at it. In fact they are so many master carvers on LJs that I was releuctant to post this. This is my first attempt at carving a figure. Its made from scraps of pine and the head is about 2” long by 1.5” wide by 3/4 ” thick (to give you a sense of the size). In a previous post, I mentioned that I was not hapy with the back of my three legged chair and have decided the back of the next version will have three snakes rising up from the back (one cobra in the centre flanked by 2 rattlesnakes). I searched the LJs site for various snake carvings and all of these were very helpful. This snake carving is a practice attempt for that chair.

Looks real enough to scare the stuffing out of a few people I know.
