I’m making an oak credenza, and the cut-offs from the panels made their way into this cutting board. Handily just in time for christmas.
The last picture is of the work in progress credenza. The six drawers (not there yet) and thus the whole front will be made of one single board…

Thanks. Since joining LJs I have seen how people are using the scraps and cut-offs from there work. Nothing goes to waste. That’s great. Thanks for sharing. Ilook forward to seeing the credenza when iot is finished.

Somebody was questioning the usability of oak in cutting boards due to its open pores. This was news to me. Does anybody have more (empirical) info on how serious a problem this is? Should I not give this at all as a gift?
