Here is my batch of 10 birdhouse ornaments for your community service project this year. Each year our turning club the Show-Me Woodturners of Festus, MO selects a nursing care facility and our group turns these little birdhouse ornaments and we visit the facility close to Christmas and distribute them to the residents of the facility. This year we are going to hand out 175 of these ornaments. It is amazing to see the smiles and the joy that you bring to someone in a care facility for thinking of them. If you ever get a chance to participate in a project like this I recommend it.

The ornanments are made of cherry or eucalyptus for the birdhouse bottom and walnut for the top. The base for the ornaments are made of red oak. The ornaments are about 2 1/2” tall.

I love your little bird houses. I have made a few, and they are always fun.

Mike, I really like your birdhouses and the stands. They make a great standalone combination. Where do you find the wire for the stands?

The birds are from hobby lobby and the wire is 1/16” welding wire from a local farm supply. Thanks for the comments.

Update – Our club ended up with about 200 birdhouses that were handed out today. Below is a picture of all of them together just before we handed them out to the residences of the facility today.
