This is a very special piece to me. I was commitioned to make it before it was even made, a first for me sculpture wise. I have the chinese symbols for, strength, wisdom, respect, father and love. On the right of the face there is a shadow behind with the symbol for father on it meaning even though father is not there all the time he always has your back. Not realizing it, this piece moved me because i am a father whos children i dont see as much as i would like. This is a christmas gift for his son to hold his katana’s. This piece was made from a tree that was taken down by a storm this fall, white cedar. I hope you enjoy, I know most of you know someone like me that has been divorced and misses his children. Just because there is a smile on the outside it doesnt mean there isnt emptiness and sorrow inside so keep these friends of yours in your prayers over the hoildays. Keep on creating and happy holidays to all.

Great looking chainsaw carving with a wonderful message, know what you mean about being away from
the children, just keep letting them know you are there for them and you love them. Hopefully, just like
that wonderful pile of old wood behind your carving, something beautiful will show up for you, if you look
carefully enough. Thank you for sharing.
