That weaving is great. It is almost like an optical illusion that you wove the wood together. Nicely done.

There are lots of great projects on this site but I think your cutting board is one of the most creative I’ve seen yet. Very nice job.

I was inspired by a creative LJ on this site (Timbers), He made a beautiful board out of Purple Heart and Maple I believe…..Very impressive! I studied the picture and watched The wood Whsperer on You Tube’s web site.
The video is very informative and I very specific. I hope this helps.

I, too, love the basket weave. I can imagine worrying about getting my knife caught as I was cutting—thinking that the wood really did overlap.

Jim,

When I saw the cutting board header in the project list I thought just another cutting board but this one is outstanding. The joinery is excellent and the pattern is wonderful.

Thanks for posting this project.

that is one fancy smancy cuttingboard. I like it.

It should be hanging on a wall and not on the kitchen counter.

Very nice. It brings back fond memories of summer picnics. The pattern reminds me of the lawnchair weave, although I have never seen a lawnchair as nice as this.

Nice! My eyes were following the lines as they go to the edge and wrap around to the bottom of the piece….. ahh its a visual feast, lol. Very inspirational.
