this is my own personal bar. i made this about 5 years ago when i was practicing with 2 colors of stain on the same piece of wood.. the oak top has a combo of cabernet and ebony stain with spar varnish to finish it off.. this bar has had a ton of use!

Great work with the staining job—I first thought it was some wicked inlay! How well has held up over the past 5 years?

Amazing how sharp the flame edges are with such a porous wood, I would have expected a lot of bleeding under the tape.
Did you stain the entire piece red, then seal it with either shellac or the spar varnish before you did the ebony staining, making the ebony stain more of a glaze?

it has lasted great! its just like i did it yesterday… as far as the process goes..its is something ive been doing for years and is very easy to do! i am in the process of starting a website on how to do it fowlerwooddesigns.com. i tried to patent how to do it but lawyers screwed around long enough that i abandoned it. my site should be done this week! thank you all for commenting on it!

I have some red stain and (pun intended) “wood” love to know how you did this but I can’t get the site to work.
