I made this for my daughter in Colorado. It was turned from a piece of claro walnut crotchwood I bought from a local woodcraft store. After seeing Scrappy’s nice piece I thought I would give it a try. 5 1/2” wide 3” tall and it’s finished with oil and wax. Sorry about the bad pictures I think I’m getting worse at photography instead of better. Thanks for looking. Lou

Looks like a nice shape , Lou.
I found that I had to bring my Walnut projects into the natural sunlight to get a good picture of them : )

Fantastic turned box! Love the shape and that Claro Walnut is always a favorite.

Keep up the great work.

It’s beautiful Lou. As Scrappy says, it’s a great shape. A wonderful gift.

Great piece Lou,love that Claro it’s what I would call “ballsy” timber, don’t get it down or way, Scrappy & I are trying to work out a good ship rate to NZ but it’s not looking too good (at this stage)
I know your daughter will be very pleased with this one :))

Lou, this is a very nice piece and I am certain that your daughter will treasure having another of your pieces. I have never seen Claro in my woodcraft store I don’t even know how it differs from regular walnut. Will have to check it out. Your turnings are always very nice and I look forward to your postings.

Thanks for sharing
