Walnut/Ash Bedroom Set

My dad regularly takes orders for furniture from us kids. My wife and I asked for an armoire for our wedding several years ago, and then we asked for a couple of matching dressers for last Christmas. I think that dad is an accomplished woodworker, and I’m always very proud of the work that he does. Since, he probably would never get around to posting his work, I’ve decided to start getting pictures and posting.

Walnut and Ash were used to provide a striking two toned contrast. Actually, the armoire is built with soft white maple, but when dad got around to building the dressers (several years later) he couldn’t remember what he had used. Really, from this far away you can’t tell the difference. He topped it off with fully extending hardware. The dressers are actually about 1” shallower than the armoire, which allows them to nest behind the armoire face when they are placed together. Dad also made them so that we could separate them if we were in a room without a big open wall. We are very pleased with the outcome!

From the pictures it looks like it fits the room? Wondered what the two woods might be like together. Nice pieces.

Another project that for some reason reminds me of Frank Llyod Write (still can’t spell). Great job.
