In September I mocked up a Jewelry box with a secret stash area in preparation to build some Christmas gifts http://lumberjocks.com/projects/53713. The first shows the beginning. I built a press to bookmatch some Walnut burl veneer #2. It was my first attempt and each box got a little better. By the time I got to the fourth box it looked pretty good. I have been using my plane, purchased on Ebay to do more work in the shop. I used it this time to thickness miter keys #4 for the boxes Pic #5. Here they all are. The far left tray and dividers are yellow pine, next is Honduran Rose Wood, third is curly maple and the end one was done in Sapele. All in all it took my about six weeks from start to the last coat of wax on the last box. The boxes are mahogany, two of the bases were mahogany and two are sapele

That is a very cool box design! The book match on those lids is exceptional, excellent work and great design!
This is one of my goals, to make a box with a built in stash area, and it would be sweet to have some kind of trick to get into the stash part too
Great work!
