I built this small side table as part of a Handtools class I took from the Chicago Bauhaus (not-for-profit woodworking school. While the pieces were milled from oak on power tools (ie. table saw, jointer, planer), all the mortise and tenon work was done with hand tools.
I used a Dozuki saw-my favorite tool for hand cut joinery (especially hand cut dovetails),-and chisels to cut all mortise and tenons. Stretchers holding the legs are blind M&T, and the view of the table top on one corner shows the exposed M&T joint.

This is a nice, original design – seems like the kind of thing you could play around with a lot, and really explore. Hope you keep at it.

This is a very nice project. The joints look tight and the exposed joint adds a nice detail to the piece.
Well done.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I’m definitely keepng at woodworking.
As they say about joinery-layout is everything, and cutting to the lines is the next thing.

Hi Gerry
I am inpressed with your table. You have me beat when it comes to using hand tools. Something I have not done too much of. It was always get it done to make the buck. Now that I am retired maybe I could do some of this. Thanks for posting.
God Bless
