These are boxes I make for grand kids Christmas the year they turn 8. Half down I make jewlery boxes for the girls when twelve 2 to finish this year. I like to use local grown wood. I learm more on every project. It always fun to spend time in the shop. My nephew has a mill and saws most of my project wood for me.

Thanks for the comments Quaken aspen has some really neat grain patterns. alot of different swirls , curley and quilted looks. I wish I could take pictures as cool as mother nature can make the wood look .
