Wife grew tired of our new TV sitting on the living room floor, so I was obliged to fire up the saws! This was a fun project from the beginning, that started with a little old lady who recently lost her husband and decided to sell off his massive stockpile of walnut (God Bless you Linda). It’s a smallish TV stand made of American Walnut and small wrappings of Maple. The top is solid and the bottom shelf is 3/16th veneer over maple ply. The finish is General Finishes Polycyclic Gloss (no stain). The pictures appear to show blotches, which is some of the paste wax that still needs buffing out. All comments are appreciated

Very nice piece of furniture!

Excellent design, not to mention fantastic wood – maple and walnut contrast each other perfectly!

Great job.

A very fine piece of furniture. the maple wrapping is a nice touch which adds detail and interest. Such a nice piece of furniture will keep you looking at it and not the TV! Great porject, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments guys, I really enjoyed this one but now I just cant wait to make the matching end table and possibly a coffee table too. It seems that I am really addicted to woodworking now! Woodbridge, your comment is right on, as I cant seem to focus on the TV and I just look into the Walnut instead. Infact, I really don’t think that the TV is good enough to sit on that table. LOL

The combo of wood makes it look like its in a tuxedo, and the arches top it off.

Awesome project. That thing looks great. The accents really take it to another level.

My fellow brother in Christ, your project is beautiful. Great talent you have. It’s almost too pretty to put a TV upon. I’d like to see a photo of the end project – that being with the TV in place! Have you shown photos to Linda. I’m sure that she will be very happy to see what you have done with her late hubby’s wood stock.

Now off to view the end table
