Candle Box made from Spruce.

This was to be, and I guess still is, a prototype. I haven’t made a box like this before; I’m more of a furniture guy. I’m happy with the result, if I can reduce the build time (and I think I can) then I will probably make more with better wood and different sizes. This one is 5” x 6” x 13”. I tried to get an aged look, I still need to work on that aspect of my projects.

Well done. I am building something similiar to these boxes, they are 3.5” x 2” x 11” I call them a mad money cash stash. Paper money will just fit inside along with a separate compartment for coins. (I will fill it with chocolate coins,) I mass produced these boxes and will make them christmas gifts. They are pretty simple to make and they are small enough to use all those scrap pieces I have hanging around.

I bet after building your first you have already thought of streamlining your building process. I have found that a 23 gage pin nailer is a big asset to woodworking. Look forward to your next projects.
