This is my 2nd woodworking project. My friend has been teaching me the ropes of it and using his shop to do so. I have been following him around the past year and getting a feel for this and have become quite interested, and now I’ve finally started myself, slowly, but it’s a start. I fashioned this project after kiefer’s Japanese Zen. The main body of the candle holder is made out of Walnut, and the three holders are made out of Curly Maple. I decided to make this as a gift for my friends for Christmas, took about a couple days to make, and enjoyed doing every bit of it.

Well done on a second project I would be proud if someone gave me a present like this.

Well done for a second project, but also well done period. Looks very nice. I am thinking of doing one of these for the family, but with 30 or so slots. Sometimes my parents will do an advent log for each day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is getting me thinking of trying to do something like that but without the log. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

Great looking project! I love love your Zen design and choice of woods. I’d like to make one of these myself. Would you mind sharing your dimensions? I’m new to wood working myself.
Thanks Sluggo
