This is a hall table I made for a nook in my living room. It is made of Cherry, as almost all of my projects are, and it is my first “real” piece of furniture. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out! I used a mix of hand and power tools but opted for hand tools wherever I could, all the planing & jointing for example was done by hand planes.
I cut the front drawer out of the front apron and re-glued it. This gives the grain a continuous flow that I really like a lot. I stole the idea from one of Norm Abram’s episodes.

Nice work. Great looking wood and clean design.
Garret hack also does is front apron assembly like this, and myself. It works great.

I really like the table; I am looking at something similar as a computer table in my family room.
May I ask why most of your projects area out of cherry? Do you have an abundance of Cherry or is it your favorite wood?
Thank you,
