wooden mallet

I decided that I probably wasn’t doing my chisels any favors by wacking them with a carpenter’s hammer, so I poked around here on Lumberjocks and came across Brad’s great tutorial for making a laminated, slanted mortise for dummies, mallet.
Hardly took me any time at all (had a few scraps of ash lying around that was soon to go into the wood stove for heat, and saved them in the nick of time), and the mallet works great.
