I made this with pine and stained it to match the trim in the rest of the house. It is a gift for my i. Laws for their new mountain home. The top hinges open to reveal a secret compartment with two finger jointed boxes

great idea with the flip top lid!
very well done, and I really like the opposing curves on the top and bottom!
Beautiful job!

I like the way you have used the shape of the wood to create some interest amd assymetry with the top and the base. The flip top lid with hidden storage is also a great idea. I would never have thought to do that, I’ve learned alot from LJs. The two figner joint boxes inside is a nice detail.
