This box is Birdseye Maple with a top of Curly Maple bordered by some nice Walnut. It is 12” square by 6” tall. The trays are soft Curly Maple. The Finish is good old Watco Danish oil. I was going to add a lift that would be recessed into the top, but had an urge to see how a finger groove would work here. I have seen this done by others on Lumberjocks. It was quick and doesn’t detract from the lines of the Walnut. I actually used some hand tools to do this!! A coulpe of small, round rasps. then I used the edge of my Spped Block sander with 80 grit to finish shaping the groove.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!

Another very nice box. If this is a gift for someone they will be well pleased.
