My favorite Mother and Father in Law had birthdays so my wife and I created this extra special porch swing for both of them to enjoy for a long time to come. This project is 100% Cedar and smells really good when swinging. You could say this was made with lots of love. Enjoy my friends.

“My favorite Mother and Father in Law…” How many you got? Kidding aside, very nice, indeed.

Really sweet looking swing/gift, bet that thing rides like a dream ! If You haven’t already, go down to your local junk yard and find You some old truck hood springs to hang it from to give it that smoooth glide with a little bounce action, can’t beat it !! Really like the beer can holders, nice touch !

Fine strong joints, thick frame and great looking material – this thing will last for a very long time. I really like those extra curves on the top. Your own design?

I wish my M-I-L was that cute !!

Nice project , printman , and I am admiring the curves as well. Looks very comfortable : )
Also , the growth rings in those straight grained Cedar seat supports are incredible !

I was impressed with the quality of this Big Box cedar too. The design was a culmination of many different designs. I like to pick out my favorite elements and put them all together. Thanks to all for commenting. I’m sure that helped me get the “Top three of the day”.

Very well done. It’s a beautiful swing.

Did you design it?

I see that you and I have similar ideas about how to build a porch swing.

Chains outside of the arms, a high back with horizontal slats, & 2x material.

What do you give to the mother and father in-law who are not your favorites? ;-p

Nice swing
