Sconces

The first sconce is oak with an iron hook with a candle box hanging from it. The wood is from an old sofa that I took apart before I threw it away, I took all the good wood, metal and screws out of it. I had the wood for years in our townhouse and then years in this house, 15 years in all I think, before I decided to do something with it. Not much construction here, I guess the story is where the wood came from. The finish is Antique Improver. The second one is pine with iron hook.

Not much construction here? It looks like you put your fair share into it, Don, and the result is very appealing. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Nice work. Don’t let my wife see them or I’ll be making way more sconces then anyone should want

@Dusty56 No I didn’t do the metalwork, just the wood on the sconces.

We (my fiance and I) just bought a house and we picked up some lantern style candle holders from Lowe’s for $0.97 each. She has given me the downstairs and is letting me turn it into a tavern type environment. I’ve been wondering how I was going to hang them….. Until now. Thanks!!!
