This was a three phase project to build a library for a small school. Its essentially all birch ply with cherry face-frames and millwork. There are two 22’ walls of 8’ bookcases (which include the desk). A wall of reading “nooks” which have pull-out display cabinets for magazine storage and drawers under the nooks. ANd then a wall of study carrols with a storage cabinet (they use the space for after-school care as well – so they needed to store games, snack etc…) Also, in front of the reading nooks is a two-tiered curved platform. They will strew multiple pillows all about the platform for the kids to lounge and read or listen to the teacher read…. It was a fun but complicated project. All the components were made AND finished off-site (lacquer) and then assemble onsite (in some cases cut onsite…). All critique and/or questions welcomed!

It’s wonderful work and looks like it would have been an enjoyable job.

Looks very nice. It sure is a pain to build off-site then assemble on site. The potential for some sort of error is painfully high. Sure looks like it was worth your effort.

Very nice work. That school must be the only one not experiencing budget problems!
