Gift for my son in-law. I made the neck out of red oak with a mahogany fret board. this was my first time I
made a fret board it was tough getting the frets smooth kinda made a mistake when I installed the frets I should have cut the under side of the frets so they wouldn’t have stuck out . sounds pretty good when I played it. hope he likes it.

Three strings??
Is that what “Cigar Box” guitars are supposed to have?

I’m not being critical; I just don’t know.

I always wanted to build a Cigar Box guitar, never could get my hands on a decent cigar box.

Nice looking cbg for the first. you were talking about the frets sticking out I would set the action high for slide playing. he should be a happy camper.

Crank49: three strings is common they make 3,4 and 6 string models

Tennessee: you can get boxes at a local cigar shop I paid $3.00 for this one. sometime you can find them at a flee market to.

B13: Thanks for the comment, your right about the fret height I wish I would have used jumbo frets would have made playing easier.
