this was one of my first pieces. i needed a hall tree stand to fit into a specificallly defined area. i needed it to be lower than a window, narrower than the wall and not too deep in order for it to fit into my entry foyer. it’s completely made of pine with pine T/G. the lid opens using a piano hinge.

i used a crackle coat medium to give it an aged look. this was a fun project. it was also very practical as it gets tons of use. Thanks for looking!

Awsome job! Did you make the T&G or did you buy the wood that way? I like the finish too! Thanks for posting.

Hi Andy. For this project, I bought the T&G that way. The next hutch that I build will have custom made T&G. Thanks!

I am working on a small hall tree for my 2 sons right now. Did you put any kind of feet on it or does the wood just sit on the ground?

Truckrun – there are no feet. the box just sits on the floor flat. i didn’t want to have to keep cleaning underneath the unit. :)

Have your say...
