This one is made from antique yellow pine.. actually very old recycled hoop pine, with plantation hoop pine [new] and purple heart accent double chevrons.
Third pic is part of the glue up prior to cutting the circle…
And as a teaser some candle holders I made yesterday that I have to finish today…
PS .. I also did the glue up on a weave cutting board 540 mm [21+ inches] by 440 mm [17+ inches] that I will post shortly.. when it is sanded and oiled..

Looking good.
What angles did you use on this one?

The angled legs on the candle holders are a nice touch.

It looks great.

It’s probably an illusion but the pine seems to enhance the 3D more.

Larry, this immediately reminded me of the devastating earthquake that ravaged our second largest City of Christchurch a year ago, I dont meant this ito take away from your very well matched up piece, the pattern is sooo striking. :))

Nice Larry. Looks like you’re keeping pretty busy over there. With all the stuff you’re making, I hope that means you’re getting tons of orders for the holiday season.

I really like the feathered grain in the hoop pine, goes well with the round shape. Does hoop pine get darker with age? Anyway, nice design as always.
