I had some extra red oak from a project I made for my sister so I made these two small tables to go on either side of our sofa at the request of my wife who grew tired of setting her coffee cup on the floor. The room is quite small so there isn’t room for traditional end tables. I made these after building a prototype out of scrap pine. The tables are knee high and the tops are 6” by 20.”

Nice Matt, I really like these! They look like they may have a little Japenese flare to them.

Terrific grain pattern in the table tops! Nice use of board selection. Can’t wait to see more of your work.

Matt, nice end tables!

You mentioned that you prototyped the build out of pine, have you found a use for the prototype or did it go to the scrap heap?

Great work!

Thanks, guys. Paul- I didn’t glue up the prototype so after getting it to where I was happy with the dimensions, I pulled it apart to take measurements for the final and then used the wood as scrap to test router and saw depth settings as I was making the finals. Two of the prototype legs did become table saw push sticks . . .

Nice design, and a great size! Big enough to hold what is needed, but not so big that they will tend to get cluttered. They have a nice flow to them, I really like the design you came up with.
