A cellarette for my sister

This is a cellarette I made to give my sister for her wedding. The design is from a book of Arts & Crafts style furniture. It is the first piece of “nice” furniture I’ve attempted (meaning, the first thing other than outdoor furniture, garage cabinets, wall trim, etc). It is made of red oak and I definitely learned a lot while making it. I really liked the idea of putting something on the back that nobody would see except my sister and her husband since the back would face the wall once it was in their home, so my wife painted a tree of life on the back with their names and the date of their wedding.

Very nice, you did a great job on this, I am sure that your sister will treasure it for a lifetime. Your wife did a great job on the tree of life.

Good looking cellarette. Love the style. The wife can really paint. Nice job on the tree.
Bet your sister will love it.

Nice cellarette. I like the tree too. Nice touch and thought. I made the same cellarette from the same book probably. I loved it the first time I saw it and knew that I would end up making it, and I did.
Nice gift.
