A rare commissioned piece. The fellow wanted a heavy duty black aquarium stand that was LEVEL. Standard case construction with a twist, inside the corners are posts that run from the top to the floor which provide additional support for a heavy aquarium. Doors are frame and panel. Built from poplar and finished with black aniline dye. Surprisingly the guy did NOT want a protective finish and I couldn’t talk him into it. When he came to pick it up he demanded his money back because it wasn’t level and it took me forever to explain that it was because my floor wasn’t level, not because the case wasn’t square but I don’t think he ever really understood. Thankfully his floor was level and he was happy.

Congrats to you on the build and commisioned work. Silly for him not to want a protective finish on this with all the water spray around the tank from cleaning and the bubbles. Well done.
