I made this one for the daughters room. Had some nice yellowheart that checked a bit, notice the cracks. Walnut antenna, Ebony feet with tiger maple eyes,

Must admit I really took the wrong aproach with eyes. I really wanted to use some Holly or Aspen… I ended up just drilling a small hole pupil, adding black enamel, but it chipped out. If I had a forstner bit that small would have been great.

I wasnt about to look for ebony dowel… maybe i need a lathe ha, the wife would kill me. Oh well… live, learn and do better next time!

FYI – If you have a hole saw set this would be super easy. However, all mine was scroll saw.

I think the result is just about right for the daughters room. If it was me and I had some ebony and wanted ebony eyes, I think I would have just used a scraper and made some dust to super glue in the holes. Brad point bit size you know. Nice work.
