What is it about Crown molding that makes you want to keep the cut offs and make something out of em? I had tons of little boxes for screws at my old shop. They are probably still there, bouncing from table to table, helping to make cabinets. I may have to revisit the possibilities crown offers. Thanks for sharing.

I am a new member at LJ and am just starting out in woodworking at age 60 (never too late, there is always time for another cup of tea). I am looking to make some boxes and that is one sweet little box with a nice finish.

Very cool idea, i like it. Of course I also like making boxes, & I might have to steal your idea (if you don’t mind). Thanks for posting it. Is that flocking or felt on the inside? Nice work either case.

Since my brother and I own an architectural molding plant I just love to see new uses for crown molding. ;-)
It’s a nice looking box – good work.
