“End of the road… nothing to do… and no hope of things getting better. Sounds like Saturday night at my house.” – Eeyore, the loveable pessimist.

The is a commissioned piece, to be used as a holiday gift.

Cut into 1/4” thick, hard-rock Maple.

Quite a simple pattern and job as far as cuttings go, but cute nonetheless! :-)

Measures roughly 7 inches square.

Finished with a soak in lemon oil and backed with thick felt.

Enjoy, and keep your tail on!

That’s nice… it would be really nice as a set with the other characters. Nice work.

A classic expression nicely captured; here’s to Saturday night.

Thick cuttings like this (haven’t seen all that many) seem to look best to me in your pictures when viewed at a slight angle. Have you ever thought of cutting so?

Eeyore is my favorite. Just can not get my little girl to let me read to Pooh to her. Her brother always liked it though!

Do you recall where you found the artwork for Eeyore? Or did you develop it yourself? I have an idea for a project- it would want some of the other characters too though.

I created the pattern off of a few images I found online, but I would be happy to share it with you – I sent you a PM with my email address and instructions.

Fine job Dan!

Don’t worry about the 600+ days though – cartoons are timeless! ;-)

I’ll bet your work would look even better with something much darker as a backer….... Try a piece of black felt – it’s easy to stick on to the back using super glue.

Cell phone camera while I was sitting in the lazy boy in a fairly dark room. I used a scrap of walnut for a backer. That was just my first try at it. I’ll do a larger one when I get caught up, and make a simple frame.

Tonight my girl wanted to read Curious George. Eeyore has taken a back seat. (I read a great Eeyore!) Now I will look for some Curious George clip art!
