At woodworking shows, if you ask, some (not all) SAWSTOP representatives would give you the activated cartridge after the famous “hot dog” demonstration. You can turn it into a “safety reminder” by installing a clock unit in it. I chose a woodworking-themed set of hands for the clock.

Another reason why I did this project today is it was too cold to do any project in my unheated shop when it was feeling like minus 30 C (or -10 C in the shop). This project was easily done inside my house without any dust pollution!

Stay indoors, stay warm, stay creative, and stay productive.

P.S. Anyone who hasn’t seen a SAWSTOP demo:

I have a similar clock in my shop only mine is wall-mounted. I attached a French cleat via screws through the two upper expansion slot holes and a block behind the lower screws.

Hey ChuckM,

Here’s a $$$ question for you: What would choose between a 20°C all year round and a SawStop in your unheaded shop?
