This is a coffee table I built to replace the one my wife had when we got married. It’s made out of black walnut that was given to me by a friend. It’s entirely mortise and tenon construction with a basic wipe on Poly finish.

This is a wonderful looking table. You got ur hands on some great walnut. I see two strips in each corner. What is, or how did you get those there? Excellent piece of work.

Very nice table. I like the contrast between the darker heartwood and the lighter sapwood. It makes your table stand out… Be careful. I made a replacement drawer for a kitchen cabinet and now, everybody that comes into the kitchen spots it and asks when I’m making the rest of the cabinets to match it!

Brukilla. I had a little bit of zebra wood that I inlayed two strips in each corner. I add a little something to it as well as help hold the but joint together.

Thanks Hal dougherty. I like the sap/heartwood contrast also. Most people who arent’ familiar with wood always ask why is that a lighter color? I thought you said that was walnut
